CAFE NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED: BUT OUR COFFEE ROASTING BUSINESS CONTINUES AND A COOKBOOK PROJECT: We've had 4 wonderful years in Hythe, but it was 25 years ago that we opened our doors in London. Hythe has been an incredible part of our journey, learning to roast coffee, getting our frozen soups offer launched, upgrading our soups to tick more nutritional boxes, and not forgetting our sweet ice-cream project. Learning how to run a community cafe, trading on just two days a week, it's been a wonderful puzzle to solve, immensely rewarding, more than I could ever have imagined, and far exceeding all expectations. We felt fully embedded and surrounded by a thousand friends in our little oasis at The Malthouse. Thank you for all the love, we felt it every day. We may be retiring the cafe, but not Nincomsoup. My time will be spent on a Nincomsoup cookbook, and the coffee roasting side of Nincomsoup (Our website shop is live). Some of our DNA lives on at The Malthouse in the form of Loom Cafe, friends (including Alex who has been working with us for the last couple of years) are taking over the space, and I'll be roasting coffee for Loom. Our menu changes frequently because we believe the key to a healthy diet is a varied diet. We have a rotational menu that pulls from more than 100 soup recipes and 80 bakery recipes including loaf cakes, tray bakes, cookies, and our special oven baked granola style cereals. After we've baked a cake or cooked a soup, it goes to the back of the queue, waiting for its next turn.
